Review of The Social Network (2010) by Tony P — 31 Dec 2015
Clever biographical story of the origins of social media domain 'Facebook' and its founder Mark Zuckerberg.
However this film shows that there were other people involved in its rapid formation from the US uni dorms of some computer geeks.
Facebook has been a phenomenon. The events of this film only begin in 2004 and within the space of two years there were one million users.
Moneygrabbing investors and shares and lawsuits prevailed as this film shows.
Director David Fincher (Gone Girl) works well with a clever script to tell the story.
If I have one criticism it is that the 'geeks' shown all speak at what seems like a million words per second!
What seems to have quite a boring synopsis turns out to be very good and one of the best films in 2010.
