Review of The Snowman (1982) by Ben J — 06 Sep 2007
Easily one of the most haunting animated films ever made. The only words in this film are the enigmatic lyrics to the mournful yet triumphant "Walking in the Air". To call this film depressing really isn't quite accurate.
It's very sad, but in the most beautiful sense of the word. And though the ending (which I will not disclose here) is more than a bit painful, it's the best way this film could have ended. Excellent, excellent film.
