Review of The Smurfs (2011) by Michael H — 07 Jan 2012
I was incredibly wrong about Transformers being the worst film of the year. This must be the worst film of the year. As I didn't think it was abysmal. It was just bad. The Smurfs is the adaptation "EVERYONE." must have been waiting for to waste money on. The movie is planning two sequels which is just weird. A film this bad couldn't possibly make that much... *ONE BOX OFFICE RESULT LATER.* Oh... Nvm. But its bad. The Animation is crappy including the cat, the only funny character in this film is Hank Azaria doing a fantastic job playing Gargamel. I actually did laugh at him in some parts but that was maybe it. The flaw of the movie is not the constent use of the word smurf as if they were swearing or anything but its the humans. Patrick is a boring uninteresting person, the other humans consist of being dumb or bland or just background cameos. The Smurfs are unfunny and boring. This is the main problem. ITS BORING. I couldn't get into anything. It was unoriginal and cliche. Raja Gosnell has directed some very funny movies like Big Momma's House and Beverily Hills Chuilauhia. Bui this is his worst film I have seen.
29/100 D (One Point Down Eh?).
