Review of The Smurfs (2011) by Colette K — 10 Jun 2012

I was expecting this movie to be so much more magical. I used to watch the smurfs all the time as a kid & expected more from the come back movie. I have to say the storyline of 'magical/fairytale' creatures falling through a portal into the "real world" reminded me a little too much of 'Enchanted' which did put me off a little.

The childs name was very predictable lol, and surprisingly my 7 yr old daughter got bored of watching it a few times- I think the story got a little too flat & uninteresting for her in parts. However, there were some really cute & funny parts, including a bit of humour for the adults watching.

Overall it was watchable, a good one for family movie night... but don't think it's one I'll be buying on DVD.
