Review of The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) by Travis J — 18 Oct 2009
This was written by feminist activist Rita Mae Brown, a copy of whose novel "Rubyfruit Jungle" is visible in one shot, as a satire of slasher films and their perceived misogyny but, while the murder-weapon-as-phallus is explicated here like in no other movie, producer/director Amy Jones chose to play it fairly straight.
It's a pretty good slasher that I liked more when I saw it as a kid.
