Review of The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) by Brad G — 10 Oct 2010
Roger Corman has made a science outta ripping off bigger, better, and more popular genre films of the day and Slumber Party Massacre is no different. What makes this rip off so interesting is how basic an example of the slasher genre it is: four girls in a house, a man decked in denim outside with a power drill--ACTION! And all the violence and mayhem is perpetrated by female director Amy Jones who rejected a job of editing Spielberg's E.
T. to spearhead this beastie. Basic, yes, but pretty creepy too. VF.
