Review of The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) by Sammie S — 31 Jan 2005
Out of the numerous horror movies I love, my favorite horror genre would have to be the slasher film. I am just a sucker for teenagers at camp getting slaughtered, or anything that resembles it.
When I first heard of Slumber Party Massacre, I thought it was the perfect scenero for a good time. Mindless teenage girls dancing around half naked, getting killed by a guy with a drill, got my attention pretty quick.
Now I have seen this movie and I must say, this is the sorriest excuse for a slasher film I have ever seen. First, a guy killing girls with a drill sounds cool at first, but after the same murder over and over, it sucks.
One of the best things about slashers are the inventive ways to dispose of the teens. The worst part of Slumber Party though, is the fact that this movie is not gory at all. The only cool part is at the end, when they finally show something and it is a severed hand.
Wow. That's it. Every other scene cuts away before any gore. This movie is awful. .
