Review of The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) by Aimee A — 03 Aug 2007
Another eighties slasher and yes its terrible but it does have some redeeming values about it but not many! The film did well because it spawned a couple of sequels which are far worse than it (if you can believe this) and it even spawned another knock-off series of slashers called Soroity House Massacre which crazily inspired sequels!!!!!!???? Its standard cliche ridden slasherfare to the core but what makes you watch is the gratuitous violence and t&a and what you get is just that and nothing more.
the eighties denim clad and very uninteresting and unscary killer drills holes in a bunch of dumbass teens (who all look old enough to be married have families of their own) after escaping from a mental asylum (the good ole story standby for most cliched slasher films).
This film is almost so cliche its not! The killer doesn't speak throughout the film until the only memorable bit of dialogue he does have comes out and its some personal favourite dialogue of mine.
"your pretty, all of you are very pretty. I love you, takes a lot of love for a person to do this. you know you want it, you'll love it!". There are a couple of clever comedy bits including the girls body in the fridge scene and a particular scene where a to be heroine searches for her weapon of choice and eventually goes jason voorhee's on the killers ass.
Accompanied by a church organ score you could do worse with a slasher film but be warned!
