Review of The Skin I Live In (2011) by Nellie K. A — 31 Mar 2012
Amodóvar subtly moves the plot in a specific prejudice, that is common these days.
Get us out of comfort zone. The movie or the story, disturbing, intriguing, makes you think. Elena Anaya playing Vera is the character who gives the film its name, and leads to perfection. Antonio Banderas is an acceptable adjuvant, but he didn't excited me. The director creates / shows a wound surgically treatable, he moves with it, it hurts, try to find a way to try to cure it. Hate and love together, but never a combination with a happy ending. I liked it a lot!
