Review of The Skeleton Twins (2014) by Donnie B — 29 Sep 2014
This film is the perfect example of a successful dramedy. Balancing humor and drama perfectly. It's refreshing to see two well known comedians take on such a grounded darker film with very vulnerably real characters. I give major props to the two leads and especially Bill Hader. I'm definitely curious to see how much more he burts into Hollywood and expands well beyond his comedic career from this point on.
It's a story about two siblings who hit rock bottom and ultimately need each other to get back up... in a nut shell. But the movie feels completely genuine and handles it's heaviness effortlessly. I connected with the characters and this is certainly a brother/sister movie that you don't see everyday, which made it refreshing. I highly recommend it!
