Review of The Sixth Sense (1999) by Erik B — 13 Nov 2013
M. Night Shyamalan's debut is excellent, but it admittedly has a lot riding on it's ending. It spends a lot of time being genuinely creepy but there really isn't anything new going on... That is until the final reveal where the film changes completely for the better.
The Sixth Sense is for thrillers what The Usual Suspects is for crime dramas. The more you watch it, the more you pick up on. It's a puzzle box that you can endlessly solve and a solid mainstream debut from M.
Night.
