Review of The Sitter (2011) by Giovanna B — 11 Aug 2012
After seeing 21 Jump Street it's somewhat disconcerting to go back and see Jonal Hill at his most rotund. But at least it's another chance to see him in the lead role of another David Gordon Green comedy, even if it is a predictable, Adventures In Babysitting, comedy of errors. Well I say predictable but the scene in Sam Rockwell's bodybuilding dojo drug lab is anything but.
There are some great moments in The Sitter but after a whirlwind first two acts it seems to run out of steam and lands flatly with a whimper at the end. Still, worth a watch, if for nothing else than the fantastic find of young Landry Bender... and the bodybuilders.
