Review of The Sitter (2011) by Dc F — 08 Jun 2013
I guess racism is a solid platform for a comedy nowadays. The Sitter isn't funny. It's incredibly racist and exceptionally homophobic. It's offensive, and I'm not in either category this film bashes on.
The filn revolves around a slacker who gets roped into babysitting three kids, but it goes horribly wrong. The jokes are bad. The only funny one here is Sam Rockwell, and that's because his character is so off the wall.
Everyone else is either bad or really meh. To make things even worse, the film tries dipping it's toe into dramatic territory for character development, and it's so completely out of place and poorly executed.
Overall, this was actually worse than what I thought it'd be, and even my lowest expectations weren't met.
