Review of The Sisters Brothers (2018) by Kevin A — 07 Oct 2018
Tarantino-esque in its aspirations, this is a western without a purpose, yet well executed in production design, costumes, amorary effects and great vistas of cinematography. Yet the viewer is left with a great big WHY.
What was the point of this story other than a brother-buddy pairing of Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Reilly? I found the story muddled and pointless. The undertone is the worn out Biblical don't do it of "greed" which results in some nasty disfiguration and more to one of the brothers.
This is a if you have nothing else to do so see it film.
