Review of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) by Patricia T — 28 Nov 2008
It was beautiful, loving and endearing. First, I thought perhaps this is just another chick flick. How very Wrong I was!! There's so so much more in there. The story, the characters and their lives - all so very much real and can be related to. Four best friends - Soccer player n unstoppable Bridget (Blake Lively); Shy, beautiful n artistic Lena (Alexis Bledel); brilliant writer Carmen (America Ferrera) n the rebel Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) - they spend their first summer apart from each other. And they faces each of their life's difficult situations which changes their entire perspectives. And all these bear witness a pair of "traveling pants" which they share equally that summer. There's NO magic in those pants. Its just a form of their hope n faith which keeps them going. Americca Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn... both of them were so marvelous! Others did really good too.
So, Why do I love this movie so much? Because I can relate so much to them... Mostly to Lena. I'm shy, quiet, afraid of showing too much, a little stubborn, love doing sketches n drawings like Lena. Then I'm a bit sentimental n emotional like Carmen and in some situations I'm a bit of a rebel like Tibby.
If you like movies with a bit of sentiments like "A walk to remember"... I'd say, definitely go for this one. :).
