Review of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008) by Alex M — 15 Feb 2009
I wished serious bodily harm on every character in the cast for putting me through such long-winded, "light-hearted", and sunny happy-clappy torture!
Ok, so I admit that I vaguely enjoyed the first movie, but this one was just too sweet, wholesome, coming-of-age dcomedy/drama that every mother wants to watch with her adolescent daughter for my liking.
Oh, and the part that really really really really BUGGED me - when the ginga chick and the hot asian guy encounter a condom malfunction, there is no talk of the morning after pill or abortion, but it's pretty much accepted that if she doesnt get her period she is going to be a mother - in a world that is grossly overpopulated, and in which teenage pregnancy is a massive and completely preventable and unnecessary health burden, I felt that that was an unnecessary christian fundamentalist pro-life plug, and I felt it was grossly irresponsible on the part of all those ignorant happy-clappy toolboxes involved in this mindless piece of excrament marketed as a movie.
WATCH WITH CAUTION!!!
(As a side note - do you think that the fact that they misplaced that stupid gimmick that was the pair of jeans means that there will be no more ghastly sequels to a vaguely decent movie???).
