Review of The Sin of Madelon Claudet (1931) by Dave J — 07 Apr 2008
Possibly shocking for its time, but very tame and boring by today's standards. Yet another '30s melodrama in which a woman sacrifices everything in order to sustain a web of lies that she built to shield someone from harsh reality.
Why do these movies always praise deception? I guess because if she were honest there'd be no movie.
