20 years and one cultural phenomenon after they premiered as crudely animated sketches on The Tracy Ulman Show, The Simpsons finally reach the one medium they haven't already touched: Movies. So was it worth the wait? Hell yes! After years of mediocre episodes The Simpsons are witty, thoughtful and relevant again! Fans of the show will love the in-jokes and appearances from almost all the characters, but new-comers will find much entertainment in the film's fluid pacing, social commentary and barrage of heavy guffaws.

While no, this film doesn't come even close to matching the ingenious writing of the first eight seasons, but it's hard to be angry at such a quality film. Maybe this should be a sign that it's time to end the Simpsons TV series and just concentrate on movies instead!
