Review of The Simpsons Movie (2007) by Jake S — 02 Sep 2013

My fears were confirmed when I watched this film, it's not as good as the TV series. A Simpsons movie had been in contention ever since the early years of the series yet it took them this long to make one.

Although there are many jokes that are better here than the show, it never surpasses it. The animation looks good but its just not the how the Simpsons should look. Another point to make is that the story would be much better if it was all set in Springlfield rather that Alaska, as it is not familiar setting so again removing the feel this is the Simpsons.

Fans should definitely watch this, but if you aren't sure if you like the TV series I wuld advise you to stay away as this could tarnish your views, which would be a shame. Maybe this should have been left a little while longer to make it the best it could possibly have been.
