The Silence of the Lambs is an intriguing thriller that kept me interested and enthralled as its plot proceeds. Coupled with a great performance by Jodie Foster and a legendary performance by Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector, it is immaculate thriller.

The film does start like any other thriller that seems to be every second movie that comes out these days, but as the film progresses it shows its independents quite distinctively. Jodie Foster plays a trainee detective, who is following the current serial killer, known as Buffalo Bill. She is than asked to speak with Hannibal Lector, for research based on the thoughts and minds of apprehended serial killers and so on. When she meets him, you are pleasantly surprised. Hannibal Lector, also known as Hannibal the Cannibal, is a former-psychiatrist who was a serial killer that ate his victims. He is considered one of the most dangerous people of the modern age, and is kept in nut house, that is heavily guarded. He is in a wing with only four other people, yet he is in bulletproof glass, and has not left his cell for eight years. When he had been taken to the hospital eight years ago, he ate a nurse's face.

Anthony Hopkins does a great job of an evil man. He uses him very well; his character manipulates people and situations to suit him. His linguistics skills goes as far as making the nut "Miggs" the patient in the cell next to him, eat his own tongue.

The film is overall exciting and excellent. The ending does not disappoint, in fact it is a great ending that I thought was appropriate for the film and did the film justice. One of the greatest films of all time.
