Thrilling, engrossing and smartly-realised, Jonathan Demme's brilliant direction and Ted Tally's wonderful script, along with incomparable performances by Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, as well as Ted Levine's terrific interpretation of Buffalo Bill, The Silence of the Lambs is an exceptional, masterful film, that perfectly balances its cleverly-elaborated suspense and its absorbing horror.
