Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Christopher C — 23 Apr 2014
To be honest I'd always kind of remembered this for Hopkin's hammy performance but on re-visit I've probably been a bit harsh. Yes, when he's over the top it is too much but on the whole he keeps it just this side of annoying.
Perhaps this is aided by Foster's excellent role, she is more subdued but a really deep character and very interesting. It's amazing really how sidelined Buffalo Bill is to the whole proceedings, it's the chemistry between Clarice and Lector that keeps you hooked.
A real 90's thriller classic.
