Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Alex A — 28 Jul 2014
A potent thriller boasting a mesmerizing performance from Anthony Hopkins and great performances from its talented cast, Silence of the Lambs is a well known classic. Avoiding superfluous screentime with Hannibal, giving modest doses of his haunting, cold demeanor throughout the film, in effect makes him steal every scene he's in.
The middle however grows considerably slow and drags at times with some uninteresting moments, rendering a four star rating from me. Nonetheless, the great characters and fleshed out psychological detective story make for an overall powerful, memorable film.
