Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Dan B — 11 Jul 2015
A fantastic horror movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time, not looking away for a second. Both Foster and Hopkins were amazing in this film, they really brought their characters to life.
Hopkins really was amazing, from the second you see him you'll know this is a role for him. After about a minute of him in the movie I just said "wow he's really good!" The whole movie really sucks you in to the whole story.
The beginning didn't waste anytime getting started either. You'd think oh they got 2 hours maybe they'll drag somethings out but no right from beginning to end you were not bored at all. Silence of the Lambs was a great horror and suspenseful movie that didn't need any cheap scares to keep you freaked out.
Everything this film had to offer was great and I was on the edge of my seat most of the time, horrors today just try to scare you with loud noises, this actually keeps you creeped out for long periods of time rather than making a loud noise and it's over.
Even every time you saw Hopkins on screen the hair on your neck would go up, he was that good. The final hour is what really made this film great, even the ending was a cool touch. Anyone that would love a good horror/thriller that doesn't want cheap scares and actually wants to be creeped out definitely check this out.
A fantastic story with tremendous acting.
