Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Virgonoshaka — 04 Aug 2017
Silence of the Lambs is one of the most iconic films ever, with Anthony Hopkins role as "Dr. Lecter" being part of the general culture for the past twenty something years, and watching for the first time I can definitely say that it deserves the acclaim, because just seeing the scenes between him and Jodie Foster is really a treat, even without the rest of the film, which also presents an interesting thriller case.
The casting does a good job in general, but as remarked, it is Hopkins and Foster that really puts this one over the top and makes it an excellent movie, a truly grand spectacle that stands as must see to any movie fan that deserves the title.
With some iconic and quotable lines, some of the greatest production design and remarkable shots, this one is one that you need to sit and have a go through, maybe with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
Final verdict: 9.
