Review of The Signal (2014) by Akiko A — 08 May 2015
The Signal is a very disturbing science fiction movie that is even better if you have no idea what it is about. Three college students go on a journey to help their friend move to California. They are tracking a computer hacker that hacked into MIT revealing the flaws of the MIT system but also hacks into their personal system.
While traveling to California, they decide to hunt down this ominous hacker. As they are drawn to this remote location after discovering where the hacker's lair is. They enter an abandoned residence leaving their friend in the car.
Suddenly she screams. The two guys run outside only to find her missing. Until they see her thrown through the sky and everything goes black. Nic awakes from the darkness in a isolated place drowsy from medication, and is brought to a man in a protective white suit.
"You have made contact." The mystery of where he is, why they are medically interested in him, and what really happened to Nic and his friends is a story that is disturbing & the confusing way the story is told helps you empathize with what Nic is going through trying to unravel the truth.
