Solid movie writing holds up after all these decades. Stewart, Sullavan, and Morgan are overwhelming. The movie moves fast and precisely under expert direction. It pulls you in immediately and the story simply unfolds in such a well managed manner that it feels somewhat like a mechanism, some intricate clock, with the big hand on funny and the little hand on situation.

The stars are in complete control, almost eerily sure of their knack to make each line hit the target dead center. It's a treat, eminently watchable, rewatchable and there for you on a lonely night.
