Review of The Shootist (1976) by James R — 11 Aug 2008
Great cast and wonderful story. A great way for John Wayne to go out. Possibly his best acting work on film. Just look at the way he reacts to everything that happens around him. The final fight scene is incredibly shot.
Wayne and Bacall have excellent chemistry together. And while Wayne is the backbone of the movie, Bacall is the heart. Nice to see Ron Howard and Jimmy Stewart in great supporting turns.
