Review of The Shock Doctrine (2009) by Danijel J — 14 Mar 2012
"Shock doctrine" based on Naomi Klein best seller is one of the most intriguing documentaries in the last decade. Sometimes it seems similar to documentaries made by Michael Moore but it's a well written piece of documentary work based on presumptions that are well known from Naomi Klein previous work.
Recommended to see, but also needs critical viewing, since you cannot take all that is seen in it as a pure fact. Also, that is the main flaw of the documentary. Argumentation. Argumentation. Argumentation. Milton Friedman is depicted as the devil here, altogether with Alan Greenspan; we've seen it already. Real issue is: Why in no one ever held responsible. Much better job then "The Shock Doctrine" is made in Oscar winner "Inside job" that is example of how this type of documentaries should be made.
