Tratto dal famoso romanzo di Stephen King, Shining è un vero e proprio capolavoro del cinema thriller/horror degli anni 80. Diretto dal talentuoso regista Stanley Kubrick, Shining fa gelare il sangue nelle vene grazie ad una trama semplice ma inquietante e per merito di inquadrature ben pensate e atmosfere ben ricreate.
Lodevole anche la recitazione degli attori, con uno strabiliante Jack Nicholson nei panni del protagonista Jack Torrance e Shelley Duvall nelle vesti di sua moglie Wendy.
