For what it is, it's good. but what it is is about as hollywood as you can get. granted, it's older, and it's probably a testament to its value that there have been a million other movies exactly like it since, but watching it in 2014 just felt very ordinary.

not all films have to be pushing the envelope, and I love many that don't, but when a film tries to contort a reaction out of you with saccharine sentimentality and cliches, it becomes an uninspired experience.
