More than the performances from Robbins and Freeman. More than the sensitive direction from Darabont. What makes Shawshank a great film lies in its ability to depict wrenching, dazzling succession of time, moods and the friendship that is lurking behind the walls.
Very few movies has been this inspiring. Let's "Hope" somebody comes up with such uplifting films in the future too.
