Review of The Shawshank Redemption (1994) by Lee R — 08 Feb 2014
Its gained a reputation as being the most liked film ever made and if there had to be one that just about everyone agreed was great, I'm glad its "The Shawshank Redemption". The film is hopeful but not overly sentimental, its about a prison and criminals but it never glamorizes violence, it has universal appeal but not because its simplistic .
. . and the film may be one of the few things that prove I am not actually a cold hearted cynic.
