Get busy living or get busy dying.

Andy Dufresne was a simple accountant married, good with numbers, and straight as an arrow. He comes home one day, finds his wife cheating on him, and tries not to take matters in his own hands. He winds up being found guilty of murder and placed in prison even though he isn't guilty. He meets a man, Red, who helps him adjust to prison life. Red has lost hope for any type of life outside of jail. The two friends give each other direction and a bond forms that can never be broke.

"The boy found brains he never knew he had.".

Frank Darabont, director of The Green Mile, The Majestic, and The Mist, delivers Shawshank Redemption. The storyline for this picture seems straightforward, and it is for the most part, but the characters are fascinating and so well delivered. The script and sequences are entertaining and the acting is brilliant. The cast includes Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, William Sadler, Bob Gunton, Clancy Brown, and Gil Bellows.

"Prison is no fairy tale world.".

Over the previous five to ten years, when people asked me what movie are you most ashamed you haven't seen, this is the movie I always named. I am so glad my mom got this for me for Christmas, as this is an all time classic. This movie was gripping from beginning to end and definitely a must see and worth having in your DVD collection.

"Every man has his breaking point.".
