"The Shawshank Redemption" is a film that is truly a mesmerizing experience. It has reminded me of why I love movies. This movie is full of heartbreak and full of breathless scenes. It is true that it slows down a little in the middle sections, but so many other things are just pure film perfection.
The acting, the score, the directing, the story, and the uplifting messages make for an satisfying movie-going experience. Another thing I really appreciated was how the film never really gave away anything immediately but instead would make the audience pay attention to certain shots and dialogue to fully understand the situation.
Likable characters, a powerful story, and a breathtaking finale make for an absolutely spectacular film that is completely compelling and worth seeing.
