Review of The Shawshank Redemption (1994) by Riff J — 06 Apr 2016
A timeless classic and the best Stephen King adaptation to date (with all due respect to Misery). Many films struggle to retain their lustre as the years go by, but Shawshank is not one of them. It's as exciting, suspenseful and funny as the year it came out.
A marvellous plot solidified with great acting. Shawshank hooks you in from the first few minutes and stays with you long after the credits finish rolling.
