Review of The Shawshank Redemption (1994) by Jessica L — 05 Jun 2016
Made in the early 90's based off a Stephen King book. ( always his books make the best movies) Shawshank is a prison drama about a innocent mans life behind bars as he faces foes and makes friends.
We see the cruel nature of prison. We see that those behind bars are still people and we come to care for all of them, we come to see how truly evil those who run the prison are. The movie has a great amount of humor as well as dark intense drama.
The final conflict in the story makes you cheer, almost 3 hours long the characters and film is so interesting you could watch it all day over and over again and never get tired of it. The acting is truly what made these actors stars.
The ending is truly heartwarming and if you don't shed a tear you must not have watched the whole film. Shawshank is truly a masterpiece and the greatest film to ever be made.
