Saw "The Shape of Water" tonight. It is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen. It is exquisite. The story of "Beauty and the Beast" retold, with shades of "Sleeping Beauty.
" Wonderful symbolism with water as the leitmotif of rebirth and new beginnings. Winter into spring=Separation leading into rebirth. Fantastic Realism, fantasy and realism blending together until the line between them disappears.
The story comes full circle. She as found as a child beside a river. The scars on her neck turn to gills. . . .
