4/5 Guillermo Del Toro is, in my opinion, one of the greatest directors out there especially when it comes to creature features. I've seen all of his films and loved every single one. This one is along the lines of The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth.
A fantastic drama about a woman who falls in love with an amphibian man who looks an awful lot like Abe Sapien from Del Toro's Hellboy films. Overall this movie was a fantastic, almost throwback to Del Toro's earlier, less action oriented films.
