Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Mark P — 17 Feb 2018
A bizarre story but a great film and well worth all the Oscar nominations. Eliza is a mute janitor at a top secret government building holding a sea creature found in South America. She becomes curious and gains actress to the lab.
Slowly she grows fond of the creature and builds a friendship with the help of eggs, sign language and music. When she heard they plan to kill the monster she plans to help it escape with the help of friends Zelda and Giles and houses the creature at her house and and to set him free.
Very enjoyable tender love story of a mute woman and sea creature who find they have a lot in common. Very imaginative film from Guillermo del Toro.
