'The shape of water' is one metaphorical view for love, free and infinite, sometimes unlogical in the eyes of some, but clear to others. You find someone like you, someone, who understands and see the world as you and then you share your lifes forever.
In my opinion the script and the soundtracks could be better, but the cinematography was great. Overall a movie, that deserves completely it's many received awards! Honestly, I can justify the low rating and negative reviews, because people are accustomed to drama, exaggeration, many varied events and fun situations, that are often missing in real life.
