Guillermo del Toro’s Shape of Water is probably one of the most humanly debasing and disturbing feature films produced by mankind. The short review is that a lonely, unattractive, female, who is mute, seduces what is purported to be a humanoid amphibian.

So basically, instead of the snake in the tree seducing Eve to sin, the woman seduces the creature. I can’t make this up. I’m wondering how del Toro came to such fantastical delusions. My advice to anyone with moral standards based on the Bible, is to NOT see this film.

I deliberately fast forwarded (yes it was a downloaded version) the parts of the movie that I thought were getting risqué; and based on other reviews I’ve read; the leading lady engages in sexual intercourse with the creature.

With the openness of same-sex relationships and laws tilted in favor of people changing their sexual status like it’s a Facebook option, its no wonder that we have arrived at perfunctory bestiality.

Yes, the trajectory of sin is always downward only. Homosexuality is the gateway for more sexual immorality just as marijuana is the gateway to stronger drugs. This movie is wrong on so many levels for anyone who is sensitive spiritually.

From the onset, the lead character who is suffering from the spirit of rejection disturbs the audience with a bathtub masturbation scene prior to going off to work. Her morning madness is immediately followed by an introduction to her effeminate and equally lonely gay neighbor who is also looking for a sense of belonging.

The rapid descent into the occult is confirmed when the creature - supposedly an ancient god, pulled from the waters of South America - is transported to the top-secret government lab for evaluation. Curiosity gets the best of the lead lady while cleaning the lab and she begins to interact with the creature during her lunch breaks - which disarms the audience and deceives viewers into believing a hideous amphibian is possible of communication and emotional connection with a human.

Satan would certainly like for us to empathize with him, but God has set a command of enmity between me and him; therefore, it is not possible for the enemy to befriend you. Anyway, not everyone in the film shares this ridiculous, sensual, devilish emotion; but of course, the woke person is cast as the antagonist.

After the projected antagonist shoots the lady and her fetish creature and her gay friend, the creature miraculously heals himself and arises. The amphibian strikes the shooter and kills him, then heals the gay guy and swoops the now deceased lady up into his arms and jumps into the water.

As they enchantingly float, the amphibian embraces the lady and through some strange but magical power creates gills on the side of her neck. She has now been reincarnated as a fish, the state of the dead is debunked, and of course they live happily ever after underwater.
