Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Ted W — 25 Dec 2017
Great fantastic phenomenal sorta romantic movie starring Sally hawkins, Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer, Doug something, and some other old man who is to me the stand out in this movie but I don't know his name, I want to.
Oh, and I forgot to say that it was directed, written and produced by one of the greatest directors of all time, Guillermo del Toro. I really enjoyed this movie but of course, this movie has its flaws like all the nudity in this movie, some of those scenes could have been taken out like the one with Sally hawkins s character and the water monster aka ape sapien, you'll get that reference if you watched other Guillermo del Toro movies.
That scene I was ok with in the movie but Michael Shannon a scene was uncalled for, it felt weird seeing him have his own scene was very weird and a waste of 2 minutes. I also liked the romantic side of this movie with Eliza and ape sapien and the chemistry that they have is phenomenal and I will consider this movie as a romantic thriller and possibly a good date night movie.
The story is fantastic, the acting is spot on and deserves the Oscar, Golden globe, and bafta for best screenplay and best supporting actor.
