Guillermo del Toro's new film is a dark fairy tale for adults that is haunting, enchanting, romantic and beautiful. Sally Hawkins delivers an Oscar worthy performance as a mute janitor yearning for so much more from life and finding more in a most unexpected place.
Heartbreaking, inspiring and jarringly violent at times, this cinematic journey is well worth the price of admission. The set design, visuals and soundtrack / score are breathtaking. The divine supporting cast of Richard, Jenkins, Octavia Spencer, Michael Shannon and Michael Stuhlbarg help to make this film simply unforgettable.
