The SHAPE of WATER: ( B- ) Though I love Sally Hawkins, Richard Jenkins, Michael Shannon... and the way this movie was shot. That this film always looks great suggests you're seeing something better than you are. I kept waiting for the movie to go somewhere (and I still am) apart from another "Beauty & The Beast" fable on (melted) ice... but it never did. I kept waiting for any character to become more interesting than they already were, but that never happened.
A "B-" feels generous given that this movie was flat out shockingly boring. I felt snookered. If you've seen the trailer you've seen the film.
