I was hyper aware that the things I felt about this interspecies relationship were probably similar to what certain people feel about interracial relationships, which made me super uncomfortable with myself.
I came to the conclusion that, as long as there is clear consent, it's not hurting anybody. It's all hypothetical, of course, since we don't actually have any other species on Earth that can communicate with humans on such a level.
