Review of The Shape of Things (2003) by Melanye B — 15 Apr 2010
While the acting still had the feel of a stage performance, this movie has the benefit of an excellent story. It challenges the social norms of beauty, romance and morality with a brutality and viciousness that leaves the viewer angry, disgusted and yet oddly enlightened.
Evelyn is absolutely horrible, with no moral center and no sense of right and wrong, and yet at the same time, she makes a valid point in the end that everyone knows but few have the courage to say with such objective (or was it?) honesty.
