Oh, Hollywood and your fascination with fictional murderous sharks. The Shallows is an unlikely story that mixes tension and horror with fabrication. The film starts out strong and misses the mark with trying the tie it all up by making it up into something highly unrealistic in the real world.
Eventually the effects even become sloppy. It is unfortunate because I really did enjoy 3/4 of it, to inevitably find myself let down In its final act.
