3 1/2 stars is a perfect score to give a summer movie with teeth and some good production. The shallows surprised me by being a pretty great film. For those that like a good shark film you won't be disappointed.
At some point the film tried to be suspenseful and at times fell flat but there are times it did a good job at it. A perfect summer film but it might make you reconsider going to the beach ever again!
