Review of The Shallows (2016) by Eric R — 14 Jul 2016
The movie itself is pretty shallow -- not a lot to go on. So, it is a lot of filler -- Blake Lively looking scared. Blake Lively looking like she's in pain. Blake Lively looking contemplative. But in the midst of all of this is a reasonably intense thriller/drama.
There are quite a number of explosive moments where I jumped out of my seat. And the scenes with the shark are pretty cool -- though he does seem a tad unreal. Overall, an OK to good popcorn movie that will scare you some.
